The short version: there are no accounts, no tracking cookies of ours, and no database of users. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The only time anything about your bill leaves your device is when you choose to use autofill.
This policy covers the website at asalbill.pk (and its no-bs-bill-calculator.pages.dev address), together with the autofill service at bill-autofill.ibnyusrat.workers.dev. The site is run by an individual, not a company, and is not affiliated with NEPRA, PITC, IESCO or any other distribution company.

Units, sanctioned load, consumer type, tax-filer status and every rate you adjust are processed entirely in your browser. Those values are never transmitted to us. If you never touch the autofill box, using this site sends us nothing beyond the ordinary web request needed to load the page.
Autofill is optional. If you enter your 14-digit reference number or your 10-digit customer ID and press Fetch, the following happens:
bill.pitc.com.pk — the same public portal you would use yourself.Your bill contains your name, address and meter number. The fetcher does not extract them and never returns them to the browser. They are not stored anywhere by us.
We keep no record of your reference number, your bill or your usage. The one thing a successful lookup does update is three national tariff figures — the fuel price adjustment, quarterly tariff adjustment and financing-cost surcharge per unit — which are identical for every consumer in Pakistan under the uniform tariff. Only those three rates, the bill month and a timestamp are saved, so the calculator can show current figures to everyone. Nothing in that record identifies you or your bill.
Our fetcher does not write your reference number to any log of ours. However, the request is made over a URL that contains the reference number, and Cloudflare — the infrastructure provider — records request metadata including that URL for a short diagnostic retention window (a few days) before it is deleted automatically. Your IP address is also used, in memory and momentarily, to enforce a rate limit of 20 lookups per minute; it is not stored.
A reference number or customer ID is printed on the bill and is not a password. Please only look up connections that are yours or that you have permission to check.
This calculator is only trustworthy if we can tell when it is wrong. So when a lookup succeeds, the page compares what your bill actually charged against what the calculator estimated for the same units, and sends us that comparison. It contains exactly six things:
It carries no reference number, no name, no address and nothing that identifies you or your connection. Reports are immediately merged into running averages for a usage band — for example "unprotected, single phase, 301-400 units" — and are never stored as individual records. The same bill is only ever counted once.
This is the only way the site learns that, say, its estimate for a particular slab runs a few percent high. The corrections it produces are what keep the figures on the calculator honest. If you would rather not contribute, simply do not use autofill — typing your units in by hand sends us nothing at all.
The resulting averages are public at /calib/summary on our fetcher, because a calculator that hides its own error rate is not being straight with you.
If a lookup succeeds, the site saves two items in your browser's localStorage:

A bill prints both its reference number and its customer ID, and shows the previous reference number where one was re-issued. All of these are saved for a connection you look up, so that entering any of them later recognises the connection you already fetched rather than repeating the lookup. Only the number you type is ever sent to our fetcher.
This lives only on your device. It is not a cookie, is not sent to us, and is not readable by any other website. Clear a saved connection at any time with the forget this number link on the calculator, clear the solar figures with the clear these figures link inside that pop-up, or clear the lot by clearing site data in your browser.
This site carries advertising from Google AdSense, which is what keeps it free.
We count visits using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It records that a page was loaded, roughly which country it came from, and basic performance timings. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, does not use your IP address to build an identifier, and cannot follow you to other websites. There is no way for us to single out an individual visitor from it, and it is never combined with anything from the autofill feature.
The site and the fetcher are hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request — IP address, user agent, time, URL — to deliver pages and block abuse. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing to export, correct or delete — everything about your bill is either on your own device or was never kept. If you believe we hold something about you, email contact@asalbill.pk and it will be dealt with. Where the GDPR or similar law applies to you, that includes your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.
This site is a household utility tool intended for adults paying electricity bills. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the calculator page.
